SECURITY

01.How do you store my password?

We use industry-standard non-reversible hashing algorithms in order to store passwords. Anybody working for APILayer, as well as any third parties, isn’t capable of seeing your credentials.

You can have a look at our privacy statement and terms of service anytime you desire. If you are a registered user, we’ll keep you informed if there are any changes to our privacy statement. We are an established business in the European Union (Austria), so regulations apply to our business.  APILayer operates in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For data processing agreements (DPA) or specific compliance inquiries, please contact our team at [email protected] or fill out the form here http://communications.idera.com/ideraprivacypolicyform

You can unsubscribe from newsletters by using the unsubscribe button that is below each email. Moreover, there is a subscription management feature in the Accounts section. You can update your communication preferences anytime.

ACCOUNTS & SETTINGS

You can update your password anytime in the Account management section.

We are sad to see that you’ve decided to do so. Just drop us an e-mail at [email protected], and we’ll delete your account and all traces.

You can reset your password from our password recovery page. If you think your credentials have been stolen, just drop us a support ticket.

API key is your unique identifier that needs to be provided each time you make a new API request. If the API KEY is absent or invalid, you’ll get an “unauthorized” response. Your API key is available at the Dashboard page. You can reset your API key anytime you desire.

GENERAL

APILayer is a cloud-based API and SaaS platform that provides 40+ ready-to-use data APIs to nearly 2.2 million B2B customers worldwide. Our products cover IP geolocation, flight data, stock market data, email validation, web scraping, news, SERP results, and more.

Our APIs are purpose-built for developers, product teams, startups, and enterprises that need reliable, scalable, and affordable data infrastructure. Whether you are building a side project, powering a SaaS application, or running a Fortune 500 data pipeline, APILayer has a product designed to fit your needs and budget.

Getting started is free and takes under 2 minutes. Visit apilayer.com/products, choose the API that fits your use case, click “Sign Up Free”, and your personal API access key will be ready in your dashboard immediately. No credit card required for free plans.

Yes. Your APILayer account is your single identity across all products. After logging into your dashboard, you can subscribe to, manage, and monitor multiple APIs from one place with one API key. Each product may have its own subscription plan, all manageable from a unified dashboard.

Yes. Every APILayer product follows a standard RESTful architecture and returns data in lightweight JSON. Any language or framework that can make HTTP GET requests, including Python, JavaScript, Node.js, PHP, Ruby, Go, Java, and C#, can integrate with APILayer in just a few lines of code.

Yes. APILayer runs on cloud infrastructure built for auto-scaling and high availability, handling anywhere from millions of requests per hour to billions per day across products. The platform maintains a combined average uptime of 99.9% with 24/7 monitoring, and a public status page is available for each individual product.

API ACCESS & FEATURES

Each successful call you make to an APILayer endpoint counts as one API request against your monthly quota. Failed requests caused by server-side errors generally do not count toward your quota. Counting rules vary slightly between products, so check the documentation for the specific API you are using for full details.

APILayer sends automatic email notifications and dashboard alerts at specific usage thresholds based on your monthly quota. You can upgrade your plan at any point from the dashboard.

Yes. If your usage consistently exceeds the highest published plan, or if you have specific requirements around SLAs, dedicated infrastructure, custom data fields, or volume pricing, our enterprise team can build a tailored solution. Contact us via apilayer.com/support.

All product documentation is centralized at docs.apilayer.com. You will find quickstart guides, full endpoint references, code examples in Python, PHP, Node.js, Ruby, Go, and more.

PLANS, PRICING & PAYMENT

APILayer accepts all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and more. You can update your payment method at any time from the Billing section of your dashboard.

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your APILayer plan at any time from your dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately, while downgrades are processed at the end of your current billing period, so your existing plan stays active until renewal.

To cancel an APILayer subscription, log in to your account and navigate to the API you want to cancel, select plans to change your plan to “free,” or email [email protected] to request cancellation

Refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If you have an issue with your billing or believe you were charged in error, please contact our support team at apilayer.com/contact as soon as possible, and we will be happy to review your situation.

SECURITY & DATA

Yes. All data transmitted to and from APILayer APIs is protected with industry-standard 256-bit HTTPS encryption. HTTPS is enforced on paid plans across all products and is optionally available on certain free tiers. We take data security seriously and continuously audit our infrastructure.

APILayer logs request metadata (timestamps, API key used, endpoint queried, response status) for billing, rate limiting, and abuse prevention purposes. We do not sell your query data to third parties. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on data retention and processing.
